Leonard Cohen - Field Commander Cohen: Tour of 1979

Is this one possibly Cohens best live album?

This one is alot better then 'Live Songs' and Cohens abilities as a singer are so much more honed than on 'LIve on the Isle of Wight: 1970' when he was still a new performer.

He is in total command here on this disc and is ably backed up by his band.  It is essentially the jazz band that he made 'Recent Songs' with and they offer some jazzy renditions of some of his earlier classics as well.

The version of 'Field Commander Cohen' on here is pretty good.  Really the only song I dislike on here is 'Lover, Lover, Lover' but that is because I just don't like that song.

My fave on there is certainly 'Memories'.  It is nice to see a song from 'Death of a Ladies Man' get some love!  The powerful jazzy version on here rocks!
